This Christmas season is the time for merry and forgiving. It is also the time for having a big celebration by having an abundance in food. During Christmas eve, tables in every home was filled with delicious and sumptuous meal to be shared by every members of the family. But beware of eating foods high in cholesterol. Eating foods high in fats such as lechon, ham, fried foods which is always present in every occasion that could lead to heart attack, strokes and blood vessel problems. It is also best to avoid eating all these foods and don't forget also to avoid salty foods. There are also several factors that may contribute to high blood cholesterol. A diet that high in saturated fat, lack of exercise,(which I need one!)family history, overweight, age and sex and excessive drinking. It is important to eat plenty of fiber, especially soluble fiber, which is known to lower cholesterol. It is found in fruits, vegetables, beans and oats. Aim to eat at least five portions of fruits and vegetables a day. Don't forget too, to exercise everyday. Celebrating Christmas without over eating could prolong your life and experience the life year ahead. It is also time to reunite with loved ones and friends whom you haven't seen for a long time. To everyone, have a meaning and fruitful year ahead of you.
