Abu Sayaff group always put a price on their hostages

A couple of months ago we heard about the abduction of the three red cross volunteer workers that was abducted by the abu sayff group in Jolo south of Mindanao. The Bandit group have several demands, we heard about millions of money for their ransom pay, the removal of the military group in the said area and many more... There were negotiations made by the governmet and the terorist but it is always unsuccesful until one day a news reports that one of the hostages were freed in the of Miss lacaba who was a Mindanaoan. It was said tha there were no ransom money paid for her freedom but I dont think that there was no money involved. It is always an SOP that in every hostage has a corresponding price for his or her freedom. The second foreigner hostage still of the Red Cross was freed a week ago and it was said that the hostage escaped from the terorist group and they paid no money becasue of the incident. Most of the people here in Mindanao dont believed in the reports because they already knew that every hostage has a corresponding price.

I love mountaineering

I have been a member of the Mountaineering club during my college days. I used to climb mountains and trek several kilometers just to reach at the top. Coral tree in the park

I was in the park yesterday particularly in the people's park of Davao City and there I found one tree that flushes thousands of flowers. It comes in yellow, it's like a golden shower tree but there were some trees that are in pink flowers. I asked one of the park keepers and some maintenance crew in the park about the exact name of the tree and they told me that its real name is Coral Shower tree. I really like the tree and I want to have one in my place to give shade to my house. I am planning to look for a seedling of that tree and I just hope that I could find one here in my town.

Swimming is the best thing to do this summer

If I will be ask whats the best thing to do this summer? All I can say is I really wanted to go to the beach and take a splash. There are a lot of white beaches here in my town but it is really far away from the place where I am staying. You need to drive approximately 17 kilometers to reach the wharf and then you need to ride a pump boat for 6 minutes to reach the beautiful white sand beaches in Samal Island. It is quite costly if you sum up the whole expenses but you can't compare the beauty of the said place. I am planning that before the summer season ends I am going to swim tot he beach with the rest of the family members (giggles).....

Abu Sayyaf freed Nen Lacaba, one of the three captives

Yesterday as I am watching my favorite TV series, a breaking news report was aired by the GMA news TV network stating that one of the three captives of the Abu Sayyaf group in Julo was being freed named Nene Lacaba an employee of the Philippine National Red Cross and a resident of Toril Davao City. She stayed in the hands of the terrorist for 70 days. She was immediately sent to the military based camp in the said area for health check up. I think the Philippine government should make a move in stopping this terrorist group for they are making evil works from the start.

Bomb explosion jolts town in Zamboanga Sibugay

A homemade bomb exploded early Wednesday in front of hardware store in a southern Philippine town previously pillaged by Abu Sayyaf militants, officials said.Army Lt. Steffani Cacho, a spokeswoman for the military’s Western Mindanao Command, said the bomb, which exploded at around 4:10 a.m., damaged the façade of the L & A Construction and Electrical Supplies in downtown Ipil in Zamboanga Sibugay province. No one was reported killed or injured in the explosion.Lieutenant Cacho said the motive of the bombing is still being investigated by authorities and no group or individual has claimed responsibility so far.“Suspects remain unknown for the moment while the motive of the blast is being investigated. The Army is actively assisting the police in the investigation," Cacho said.Abu Sayyaf militants Ipil town in April 1995, killing 53 people and burning the business center before escaping. More than 200 militants, headed by Abu Sayyaf chieftain Abdurajak Abubakar Janjalani, led the attack. Janjalani was killed three years later in a clash with police in nearby Basilan Island.
